How secure are the Members Community Credit Union transactions I perform over the Internet?

We take every precaution to ensure that your transactions are performed accurately and securely. CU@HOME provides secure communications using 128-bit encryption security. We require the use of a browser which supports at least 128-bit encryption.

The browser that you are running determines which level of security will be used for your connection. If you are currently using a 40-bit encryption browser you will need to upgrade to a more secure 128-bit encryption browser, you can download the browser from either Netscape or Microsoft.

<>

What is encryption?

Encryption scrambles information before transmitting it over the Internet. This conversion of data makes it difficult for information to be intercepted by a third party.

<>

How can I be sure no one else can view my account information?

We require that you have a personal identification number (PIN number) before using the Online Banking System. You can sign up for your PIN number on our secure online banking site or at the credit union. You can only access your account information by using this PIN number. For security purposes DO NOT share your PIN with anyone else.

<>

Is there a fee for using the Online Banking System or Online Applications?

We are happy to provide our Internet Banking Services to you at no charge. If you sign up for iPay@Home Online Bill Pay Service, there will be a $5.00 per month service charge if you are currently receiving a paper statement. However, if you sign up to receive eStatements, the $5.00 fee will be waived.

How do I print a copy of a cancelled check?

You can print a copy of a cancelled check in CU@HOME. Just login to your account and click on the “DRAFTS” section. Then click on the draft number to view & print a primary checking account (type 10) cleared check.

To print a secondary checking account (type 11) cleared check, click on the “USEFUL LINKS” section in CU@HOME and go to the Draft Imaging link. You must have a separate user name and password to access this area. Please contact us if you have not signed up for draft imaging and have a type 11 account!

<>

Is there a fee to print a copy of a cancelled check from this website?

No. We are able to provide this service at no charge when accessed through CU@HOME or Draft Imaging. However, there is a fee when you order a cancelled check copy through the credit union.

How do I use Draft Imaging for Type 11 Secondary Checking Accounts?

Please Note: As of July 30, 2003, you must fill in a Group ID along with your Username and Password. Our group ID is HICCU.

Through the Draft Imaging System, you can print copies of canceled checks that have cleared your Share Draft Account. Draft Imaging can be used for Type 10 and Type 11 accounts, but it is easier to view and print Primary Checking Account checks directly through online banking. To logon to the Draft Imaging System, you must have a Username and Password. If you have not signed up for Draft Imaging, you can do so the next time you are in the credit union. The Draft Imaging Password is separate from your Online Banking PIN number. After logging onto the Draft Imaging System, you will be able to pull up one canceled check or a series of cancelled checks by using the following instructions. You may want to print these instructions to refer to while using the Draft Imaging System.

Your Share Draft Account number will automatically fill into the Query screen. The Query screen searches for cancelled checks by Check Number, Check Amount, or Check Date (note: the date is when the check cleared the credit union not when the check was written - this date can be found in the Online Banking Section of this Web site or on your monthly statement). In all three options, you will be given the choice to use equal to (=), less than (<), less than or equal to (<=), greater than (>), or greater than or equal to (>=) with your selection. For example, to find all checks that have cleared your account:

• since June 1, 2001: enter >= 06/01/01 in the Date Section
• in the amount of $300.00: enter =$300.00 in the Amount Section
• after check number 1000: enter >1000 in the Check# Section

After submitting your query, all cancelled checks matching the specified description will be listed on the screen. To view a particular check, highlight that check and click the Front Button (to show the front of the check) or the Back Button (to show the back of the check). To improve the appearance of the picture, click the Smooth Button.

To print check copies, click the descriptions of all canceled checks you wish to print. A green dot will appear before each selected check. Next, click the Print Button to select how the check or checks will appear when printed. The options include Print What (front, back, or both), Print Range (all items, current items, or selected items), and Page Setup (number of columns, large images, or small images). After selecting your preferences, click Preview to show exactly what will be printed. If this is satisfactory, click print and you are done!

The gas company wants me to email them a copy of my cancelled check.
Can I do this?

Yes! To email a cancelled check copy, right click on the image of the check in the Drafts section of CU@HOME or in the Print Preview section of Draft Imaging and click on “Save Picture As”. Then save a copy of the image in GIF format to your hard drive. You can then attach this file to any email program. Please remember, however, that email is not transmitted over a secure server. It would be safer to print the cancelled check copy to mail to the company.
